The building that houses The Springfield Metropolis was originally built as Central Methodist Episcopal Church. The cornerstone was laid in 1913, and the church was dedicated September 27, 1914. From 2018-2020, it was Central Community Center. After the community center moved, the building sat vacant for three years before being purchased and repurposed by Levi Duncan in 2023.

102 W. High Street is now the home of The Springfield Metropolis. It includes two event venues and eight commercial offices, Our mission is to welcome the community once again through the variety of businesses and events inside."
